Sunday October 25th 1-4
$10/participant - includes an inoculated log and wine cap spawn
Come for all or part of the time!
Learn how to grow mushrooms in your backyard! We’ll cover a few of the easiest methods and species so that you can get started growing your own gourmet mushrooms.
Oyster, Shiitake, & Chestnut logs - learn how to select the best logs and what tools are needed to start growing mushrooms. Mushroom logs take 6-12 months to incubate, then will typically produce up to a pound of mushrooms twice a year for 5+ years.
Participants will go home with a log inoculated during the class and care instructions.
Wine Caps in wood chips - learn how to set up a wine cap bed. Participants are welcome to take home a cup of wine cap mushroom spawn to inoculate their own mushroom bed - bring a yogurt container or similar for transport!
All ages are welcome, but note we will be using power tools and hot wax
We’re keeping the cost low because you’ll be helping us inoculate our logs too! Everyone will have the chance to take a log home to grow their own mushrooms, we just ask that you help us to inoculate at least one additional log for the farm.
Sunday October 25th 1-4. Come for all or part of the time! We will be outdoors, so dress for the weather. Bring a power drill if you have one.
To pay with cash or check please use the coupon code “PAYCASH” at checkout.
